This facility is available to applicants who have met the requirements for registration as a Commercial Food Fish Farmer and assigned an Aquaculturist ID.

Applicants are required to:

  1. Applicants must be 17 years and older and a resident of Trinidad and Tobago
  2. Facility must be operational, meeting the requirements of minimum 1.5ha production ponds or 55,000L intensive recirculating systems with annual production no less than 5000Kg. Or for hatcheries 0.5 ha in production ponds or 20,000L intensive recirculating systems with annual production no less than 40,000 fingerlings.
  3. A site visit for verification would be scheduled between the hours of 8 am-4 pm, Mon-Fri (excluding public holidays).
  4. Complete the requisite form available from the Aquaculture Unit of the Fisheries Division
  5. Submit a Valid form of identification for verification along with two (2) passport-sized photographs attaching copies of the associated documentation (i.e. deeds, lease, and recent tax receipts).

1-2 weeks

This facility is available to Registered Vessel Owners (Valid Fisherman’s Certificate, Certificate of Record for vessel).

  1. Applicants are required to: Complete the requisite form available from the Fisheries Division.
  2. Submit the form along with proof of ownership of engine for consideration.

Time-frame:

1-2 weeks

This facility is available to residents of Trinidad and Tobago who are 18 years and older.

Applicants are required to:

  1. Complete the requisite form available from the Fisheries Division including testimony from a registered fisherman with a valid Fisherman’s Certificate.
  2. Submit form and present a valid form of identification for verification along with two (2) passport sized photographs, one of which must be signed and certified by a Police Officer above the rank of Constable;

Attend an interview at the Fisheries Division following review of the above documentation.

1 month

This facility is available to Registered Fishermen (Valid Fisherman’s Certificate).

Applicants will be required to submit documentation relating to the fishing operations, vessel specifications, owner, among other things.

N.B For safety reasons vessels to be registered should be a minimum of eighteen (18) feet long and fitted with navigational lights.

Time-frame:

1-2 weeks

Persons intending to use a commercial fishing vessel on the high seas should obtain provisional approval from the Fisheries Division prior to registering the vessel with the Maritime Services Division, Ministry of Works and Transport.

Applicants will be required to submit documentation relating to the fishing operations, vessel specifications, owner, among other things.

Note that all vessels intending to fish/fishing on the high seas must be registered by the Maritime Services Division.

1-2 weeks

This facility is open to wholesalers and retailers of agricultural produce.
