Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries – Senator the Honourable Ravi Ratiram

Senator the Honourable Ravi RatiramSenator the Honourable Ravi Ratiram currently serves as Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries. He brings to the Ministry a strong background in engineering, leadership, and innovation, along with over ten years of hands-on experience in agriculture. His direct involvement in areas such as livestock care and crop production has given him a deep understanding of both the challenges and opportunities within the agricultural sector.

Minister Ratiram holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Innovation from Anglia Ruskin University in the United Kingdom. His academic and professional background provides a solid foundation for driving the modernisation and transformation of Trinidad and Tobago’s agricultural sector.

He has served in various capacities in public service and is a strong advocate for youth empowerment, technological innovation, and community development. As Minister, he is committed to enhancing food and nutrition security, promoting sustainable agricultural practices, improving land administration, and strengthening the fisheries sector.

With a clear vision for a resilient and productive agricultural industry, Minister Ratiram is focused on building partnerships, supporting farmers and stakeholders, and leveraging technology to improve efficiency and output across all areas of agriculture and fisheries.
