Eligibility for Farmers’ Registration

How to access this service


(A) Criteria for Individual Applicants:

  • Applicant must be eighteen (18) years and over and a citizen or resident of

Trinidad and Tobago

  • The Application is made at the MALF County where the applicant resides
  • Must be practicing agriculture on at least one-eighth of an acre (0.05 Hectare) of land
  • Two passport sized photos
  • Proof of T&T Citizenship/Residency
  • Original and copy of Electoral ID card or Passport or Certificate of

            Citizenship

  • Proof of Land Tenure (Original and copies must be provided)
  • Land tax / Rent receipt- if receipt not in Owners Name:

-Return of Ownership Form or Land Assessment Form from Revenue

Office

  • Deed or Certificate of Title

An applicant who has permission to use land, a renter or someone who has joint tenancy must provide a Sworn Affidavit or Notary Public stating the land size granted and the number of years permission has been granted for.

– If land owner is deceased the applicant has to provide death certificate and

Letter of Administration or Probated Will to include Inventory and

Deed of Assent

  • Lease Documents for State Land
  • Allocation Letter for Caroni 2 acre plots

 

(B)Criteria for an Organization

The Organisation must be registered in Trinidad and Tobago

  1. Owner

The Organization owns the land and wishes to be registered

Documents required for Registration:

  • Current Land Tax Receipt
  • Deed or Certificate of Title
  • Certificate of Incorporation
  • VAT Registration Certificate (if registered)
  • Letter of Authorization identifying (2) persons to transact business from Director of Organization on letter head
  • Articles of Association with Organization Stamp
  • Notice of Directors

 

Renting Private Lands

The Organization does not own the land and is renting from the owner

Documents required for Registration:

  • Current Land Tax Receipt in owner’s name or Return of Ownership Form from Revenue Office
  • Deed or Certificate of Title
  • Affidavit or Notary Public from Justice of the Peace or Commissioner of Affidavit
  • Letter of Authorization identifying (2) persons to transact business from Director of Organization on letter head
  • Articles of Association with Organization Stamp
  • List of Directors of Organization
  • Rent Receipt from owner

Persons are also require to submit two (2) passport sized photos, original and copy of

-Electoral Identification Card (ID card) or Passport or Certificate of Citizenship.

All farmers must register at the County Office in which they reside.
