Research and Development Unit
The Research and Development Unit is mandated to the:
- Conservation and preservation of indigenous flora to ensure the protection and survival of the plant biodiversity of Trinidad and Tobago.
- Introduction of appropriate new species and horticultural varieties to enhance the country’s plant biogenetic pool.
- Conduct of scientific research with emphasis on the evaluation of species of ecological importance or of economic, medicinal and other potential.
