Import and Export Licences and permits for ornamental fish used for personal purposes

Applicant is issued an Import licence for the desired ornamental fish for personal purposes.

How to access this service

Applicants are required to:

  • Submit a written request for an import permit to the Director of Fisheries.
  • Obtain approval from the Minister. (Minister’s Licence) for ornamental species such as goldfish, Japanese Higoi and Carp through written request to the Director of Fisheries.
  • The applicant must inform the Division of his/ her intention to import/export their shipment at least 48 hrs before its departure as an officer of the Division must inspect the consignments at the port of entry/departure.
  • Species must not be listed as endangered and must meet CITES requirements (where applicable).
