Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture Land and Fisheries, Mr. Ric Javed Ali

DPS Ali Web Portrait-edit1Appointed as the Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, Land and Fisheries (MALF) in February 2023, Mr. Ric Javed Ali is the most recent addition to the executive team having previously held the post of Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Planning and Development over the past three years.

Mr. Ali commenced his public service career as a Graduate Surveyor/Land Surveyor I in the Surveys and Mapping Division of the Ministry of Agriculture and thereafter held tenure across other Ministries and Departments throughout the public sector for approximately twenty years.

His academic qualifications include a BSc. in ‘Surveying and Land Information’ from the University of the West Indies, and an MSc. in ‘Estate Management’ from the London South Bank University and he holds professional memberships with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and the Institute of Surveyors of Trinidad and Tobago (ISTT).

Collectively the professional experience and technical expertise that he has amassed make him a tremendous asset to the Ministry and therefore he has been tasked with the responsibility of leading and managing various portfolios within the MALF structure including the Surveys and Mapping Division; Land Management Division; Geographic Information Services Unit; Regional Administration North and; Regional Administration South Division.

Mr. Ali has an affinity for outdoor activity and spends his personal time engaged in recreational family activities.
