Mrs. Nela Dwarika-Ali, Deputy Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Land and Fisheries
Mrs. Nela Dwarika-Ali is currently the Deputy Permanent Secretary (DPS) in the Ministry of Agriculture, Land and Fisheries (MALF). She assumed duties in the office of Deputy Permanent Secretary in February 2023. Her prior portfolio was that of Audit Director at the Auditor General’s Department; a position she served with distinction for more than eight (8) years.
Mrs. Dwarika-Ali, who entered the Public Service in 1990 as a Clerk I in the Central Statistical Office, spent more than twenty-five (25) years at the Auditor General’s Department, having served as an Audit Examiner Assistant I, an Audit Senior and Assistant Audit Director before her assumption to the role of Audit Director in September, 2014.
She is both a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and a Certified Information Systems Auditor with extensive training in financial and IT auditing. Additionally, DPS Dwarika-Ali has acquired training in business continuity management; risk-based auditing; leadership; emotional intelligence; project management and supervisory management.
